Patent Prosecution Patent Agent or Associate Attorney – Electrical/Computer Engineering
Position Summary
Sheridan Ross P.C. is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate or Patent Agent with 2-6 years of experience and strong academic credentials. Candidates must be admitted to the USPTO and have experience with drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, electro-mechanical, software, and computer architecture fields. Additionally, candidates should be motivated self-starters with superb communication and writing skills, a commitment to excellence, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Full remote work options are possible depending on the candidate, experience, and qualifications.
Essential Functions
- Draft and prosecute US patent applications
- Coordinate responses to foreign office actions
Job Requirements
Education
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or computer science is required and engineering work experience would be a bonus
- Juris Doctor (JD) is required for the Patent Prosecution Associate position
Experience
- 2-6 years of patent prosecution experience
Other Requirements
- Ability to quickly grasp new concepts in electrical, electromechanical, computer architecture, and software engineering disciplines
- All candidates should be admitted to practice before the USPTO
- Strong work ethic
- Superb writing and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with a great attitude

Benefit and Compensation Summary

Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $250,000 depending on the experience and qualifications, with a billing expectation of 1,750 hours per year.
