The Denver office of Sheridan Ross added patent agent Michael McIntyre, the firm announced yesterday. McIntyre has more than 20 years of experience focused in the areas of industrial processes and equipment, chemistry, alternative energy, biotechnology and medical devices. He previously worked for Gevo, Inc; Rentech; Range Fuels Inc; Johns Manville; the Dow Chemical Company; and the Dow Corning Corp.

DENVER – Michael A. McIntyre, a patent agent with more than 20 years of technical experience in the areas of industrial processes and equipment, chemistry, alternative energy, biotechnology and medical devices, has joined the Sheridan Ross law firm. His practice areas focus on domestic and foreign patent prosecution.
Prior to joining Sheridan Ross, McIntyre worked for some of the country’s top specialty research and technology companies including Gevo, Inc; Rentech; Range Fuels Inc; Johns Manville; the Dow Chemical Company; and the Dow Corning Corporation. His work included process research & development, process engineering, and process scale-up. McIntyre’s process development experience encompasses conceptual design of process options, evaluation of process options in the laboratory, and technology scale-up to the manufacturing plant. His chemistry experience includes silicon, organic, gasification, gas-to-liquid conversion and catalysis. His recent industrial experience includes glass fiber technology, and the development and scale-up of thermochemical and fermentation routes to produce biofuels.
While at the University of Michigan, McIntyre studied developmental biology, microfluidics and the protein structure and function of molecular motors such as kinesin. Fluent in German, he was a Fulbright scholar at the Technical University of Munich where he assisted with the development of a dynamic mathematical model for predicting liquid waste remediation using liquid-liquid extraction. McIntyre is a licensed chemical engineer in Colorado and Michigan.
