Sheridan Ross Shareholder To Be Honored

20 March 2013.

LAW WEEK COLORADO

Sheridan Ross shareholder John Posthumus will receive a Distinguished Service Medal from the Linn Inn Alliance, in part for his role in bringing a satellite patent office to Colorado.

Posthumus will be honored Friday a the New York Intellectual Property Law Association’s annual dinner in honor of the federal judiciary.

The award recognizes Posthumus’ leadership “in helping to bring the American Inn of Court experience to the Colorado intellectual property community,” said U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Richard Linn, the alliance’s founder, as well for his role in helping to secure a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Colorado.

Working together with a small group of his intellectual property colleagues, Posthumus was a founding member of the Colorado IP Inn of Court. Since its inception in 2010, the Colorado IP Inn has grown to 180 members and is the largest Inn of Court in the country based on membership and overall participation by its members.

The American Inns of Court was created to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar. Its membership includes judges, lawyers, law professors and students. The Linn Inn Alliance is the intellectual property specialty branch of the larger organization and represents 21 American Inns of Court throughout the United States and in Tokyo.
