Rita (Ruta) Sanzgiri, PhD, a partner with Sheridan Ross whose practice focuses on intellectual property in life sciences, in particular patents in the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals areas, has been elevated to chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section. As chair, Ruta will be responsible for ensuring that the section continues its mission of promoting exchange of information about new or proposed developments in the intellectual property field and facilitating interactions among the section members and the public, while following the new social distancing norms of the post-COVID world
“We are thrilled that Ruta will be leading the IP Section of the bar. She is a fantastic choice because she is an excellent attorney whose multiple years of experience will inform the section’s agenda for the coming year,” says Matt Ellsworth, co-managing partner. “Sheridan Ross attorney Matt Holohan held this position previously. We appreciate that our attorneys can play such a critical role in our community, and we look forward to supporting Ruta in her work.”
Under Ruta’s leadership, the IP section committee will host programs and events in the IP field to address developments in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and antitrust law, as well as pertinent ethics issues.
