Cynthia Mitchell

Cynthia leverages more than two decades of experience as a patent attorney and in-house counsel in her work representing clients in a full range of intellectual property matters. She grounds her counsel in the day-to-day realities her clients face. Cynthia partners with clients across a range of technologies, including electrical, electro-mechanical, and medical device industries. Combining her business and legal expertise, Cynthia helps clients navigate the complex pitfalls of developing comprehensive portfolio strategies.

In her day-to-day practice, Cynthia prepares and prosecutes domestic and international patent applications, drafts licensing agreements, and prepares patent validity, patentability, and freedom-to-operate opinions. A former in-house counsel with leading medical device, telecom, electronics, and renewable energy companies, Cynthia leverages a deep understanding of the day-to-day challenges her clients are facing. In her role in-house, Cynthia was responsible for the implementation and management of global IP portfolio planning and management, including the development and implementation of U.S. and international patent and trademark procurement strategies and trade secret management. She also counseled companies on matters relating to licensing, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint development, and due diligence. Her focus with every client is supporting their business goals and delivering efficient and effective portfolio protection strategies.

Cynthia holds both a law degree and a Master of Laws in International Business Transactions from the University of Denver as well as a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida.
