Joe Kovarik
Sheridan Ross P.C. Shareholder Joe Kovarik has joined the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), an invitation-only organization of 2,500 peer-reviewed inside and outside counsel and insurance industry executives representing companies across the world.
Founded in 1920, the IADC and its members look to deliver benefits to the legal profession as a whole through leadership in diverse areas of legal reform, legislative advocacy, the civil justice system, as well as legal education and leadership.
Kovarik, who practices intellectual property law, with an emphasis in patent prosecution, patent litigation, mediation of patent disputes and licensing of intellectual property rights, brings more than 25 years of experience and a unique set of skills to the Association. With technical training in biochemistry and molecular, cellular and developmental biology, his experience includes extensive work in innovative commercial products and insurance related methods.
“The protection of a company’s intellectual property assets, either by procuring patent and trademark rights, enforcing such rights against infringers, or defending against improper contentions of infringement, is increasingly important in today’s fast paced technological world,” said Kovarik. “The IADC is a wonderful forum to advance how IP rights can and should be protected and defended.”
